Whats with the multiple packings for each style number

Before the word transparency became popular RG Riley set out on a path to enable our customers and sales staff a way to view our inventory and see the the exact case pack they would be purchasing. Our intentions are to make every effort to enable the user to be able to see the exact size scale they will receive when making any purchase. Over the last 30 years our customers have asked for more and more details about the color assortments they will actually receive and how they can make these assorted cases work for their customer base. It has always been problematic to detail what assortment the customer will actually receive when they place an order for a style and the description simply states "assorted colors and sizes". RG Riley packs 1000's of cases per week and in many examples the color assortment and the size scales change as we pack the entire inventory for any given style. In some cases we may pack the item 20, 30 or even 40 times and each packing can be different from the previous packing.

The new technology we have invested in has produced the means by which we can segregate all the different packing's and let our users choose which packing works best for their business. We are after all in the closeout business and many styles may have very limited colors and sizes even to the point of being one color one size. The simple truth to this is let the customer see what they will be receiving and adjust the price to make sure the value is commensurate with the product. This has enabled our customers to mix and match different packing's and styles and thereby increase the overall profit. Our customers purchase from a diverse set of vendors and what may be a an odd ball assortment for many may be a good value for another.

The multiple packing's will be seen on the web as Pack 1 Assorted, Pack 2 Assorted, Pack 3 white, etc. and for each different packing you will need to view the packing details. Packing's may be priced at different price points based on what we perceive as the desirability of that particular packing. We will also be able to create scales that are heavier in large and xlarge as well as packing's that are heavier on the smalls and mediums and our customers will be able to choose based on their demographics.

While we started this process a little over 6 months ago it will take a while to complete this procedure in our system so you will still see some packs that simply say assorted. These assortments may be random and we do not have the same accuracy that we have produced on those styles that say pack 1, etc.
